Thanksgiving in Saskatchewan

Matt and I decided to do a little pumpkin pie taste testing this Thanksgiving. We made pies from a can of pumpkin puree and the others right from scratch from a huge pumpkin. But before we could make the pumpkin pies we had to track down a pumpkin, which was a little trickier than we expected. We did not find a pumpkin in the small town local store, so we called a few phone numbers that had advertised pumpkins for sale, but with no luck. So Matt and I went on a little road trip to the neighboring town of Fort Qu'Appelle, where we tracked down a rather large pumpkin. After a little baking the night before and ingesting of a wonderful thanksgiving meal the next day we tasted it out... and found the one from scratch won.

Edmonton Folk Fest

This was my first time at Edmonton Folk Festival, I know its hard to believe. I have now lived in Edmonton for 10 years and this is my music. Why I have not gone before I don't know, but it will now be an annual event that I will not miss. I love folk festivals!

Summer Project #2

Summer Project #2 was a picnic blanket, and I had it finished just in time for us to use at folk fest. I have wanted to try to make a quilt for some time now so I decided to make one and use it as a picnic blanket. After a bit of trial and error here is my first attempt at quilting...
